We at Abion, an international IP powerhouse with high ambitions, are currently seeking a highly motivated Paralegal to be a part of our Danish IP team. This position is available our office in Roskilde and Copenhagen in the future.
The ideal candidate will handle both administrative and legal tasks, with a focus on intellectual property law, supporting the legal team in managing IP-related cases and documentation.
What You’ll Do
As a Paralegal you will perform a combination of administrative and legal tasks, with a focus on intellectual property law. This role is essential in supporting the legal team and ensuring the smooth handling of IP-related cases and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Case Management
– Organize, maintain, and monitor deadlines for intellectual property rights cases.
– Ensure accurate and timely saving of correspondence and case-related material in the internal case management systems.
- Client and Internal communication
– Maintain regular communication with clients, updating them on case statuses.
– Correspond with local agents, authorities, and internal teams including Brand Protection Advisors and project managers.
– Coordinate and participate in meetings with clients and internal stakeholders, including travel for meetings if necessary.
- Legal and Administrative Support & Documentation preparation
– Assist attorneys and Brand Protection Advisors/Strategists with fact-finding, drafting documents, and preparing reports and proposals.
– Prepare cost estimates and manage trademark applications, including class descriptions and submissions.
– Administer, manage, and renew trademark/design registrations, perform trademark watching, preliminary screenings, and handle Trademark Clearing House (TMCH) tasks.
- Billing and Timekeeping
– Ensure billing accuracy and adherence to client billing guidelines.
– Prepare invoices and maintain detailed time records for billing purposes.
- Quality Assurance
Ensure that all tasks are performed with high accuracy, quality, and in line with industry standards.
Who You Are
Desirable Qualities and Qualifications
- Strong interest and knowledge in intellectual property law.
- Excellent command of legal and business English, both written and spoken (fluency in additional languages is a plus).
- Proficient in legal research tools and databases.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks and prioritizing deadlines under pressure.
- Structured and detail-oriented, with a focus on optimizing operational processes.
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a team.
- Humble and a team player with excellent networking and relationship-building abilities.
