IP Counsel - Domain Enforcement

We at Abion, an international IP powerhouse with grand ambitions, are currently seeking an IP Counsel to bolster our Online Brand Protection team. This position is available in either our Italy or Malta offices.

What You’ll Do – Responsibilities

As an IP Counsel in the Online Brand Protection team, you will engage directly with clients to address a variety of online intellectual property rights infringement issues.

We are looking for a digital-savvy, positive-minded legal professional eager to contribute to our team’s growth in a dynamic, international setting.
Your main responsibilities will include providing consultancy and legal advice on online brand protection and enforcement, with a particular focus on domain names. You will oversee domain name enforcement cases comprehensively.

Additionally, your role is critical in driving the department’s revenue growth through new customer acquisition and the nurturing of existing client relationships.

• Legal Consultancy: Deliver precise and customized legal analysis and recommendations to clients.
• Drafting: Create legal documents, including C&D letters, UDRP/URS complaints, DMCA notices, settlement agreements, etc.
• Case Management: File legal documents with the appropriate authorities and meticulously maintain case files, ensuring all documents are current through our internal case management system.
• Client Communication: Serve as the primary contact for clients, managing status reports and updates.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Customer Support, IT & Security, and other departments to deliver a cohesive and positive customer experience.
• Delivery: Execute tasks with high accuracy and quality, adhering to the best industry standards.
• Initiative: Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in your field and provide recommendations on how we can continue to improve our processes and results

Who You Are – Qualifications

• A Law Degree.
• At least one year of experience as a Legal/IP Counsel.
• Proficiency in legal and business English, both written and spoken (additional languages are a plus).
• Strong proficiency in legal research tools and databases.
• Excellent digital analysis skills.
• A high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines under pressure.
• A structured, detail-oriented approach, with a passion for optimizing operational processes.
• Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
• A results-driven mindset, focused on achieving targets.
• Effective communication skills, both internally and externally.
• Ambition, independence, and a technical mindset.
